How to Sort/Dispose of Garbage
Garbage is collected on different days depending on where you live. Please check the schedule for your area, carefully sort your garbage and recyclable resources, and dispose of them on the designated day by 8:00 a.m.
Please pick up a color poster “How to Separate and Dispose of Recyclable Resources and Garbage,” which is written in Japanese and foreign languages (English, Chinese and Korean) at the Planning Section (City Office), East and West Adachi Waste Collection Offices, as well as Residents’ Offices. Foreign-language versions are available at the Multicultural Society Subsection of the Citizens Section as well as the Foreign Resident Registration Subsection.
Garbage Categories
Combustible Garbage (suitable for burning)—Collected three times a week
Paper scraps, kitchen scraps, plastic items, rubber items, leather items, etc.
Noncombustible Garbage (not suitable for burning)—Collected once every other week
Metal items, glass/ceramic items, small electric appliances, dry-cell batteries, lighters, etc.
Recyclable Resources—Collected once a week
Newspapers, magazines, cardboard, paper cartons, bottles, cans and plastic PET bottles
Large-sized Garbage—On a reservations basis

Furniture, bedding, bicycles and electric appliances (excluding TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners and personal computers) measuring about 30 cm or more on any side

Reusable furniture, bicycles and other items collected from Large-sized Garbage are refurbished and put on display for sale at reasonable prices.
Closed on Mondays, national holidays and the fourth Thursday of the month (only the Saisei-kan shop).
